• Project Ubonono is currently underway for the cleaning of Spatial data. The main purpose if the finding of gaps, holes, slithers and other geometric inconsistencies.

Previous Projects

• Informal Cadastral Data - Pilot Project    
  The Surveyor-General has purchased the data of the informal rural settlements of the HELP database from GeoSpace. A pilot project is currently being run to assess the incorporation of the data in the spatial Cadastral database.

• CIS Overview and Previous Projects
  The Cadastral Information System (CIS) is made up of three components. These components include spatial information, image information and alphanumeric information. To gain more insight to the CIS and what has happened to date, click here.
• Informal Cadastre Pilot Project
  The Surveyor-General has purchased the data of the informal rural settlements of the HELP database from GeoSpace. A pilot project is currently being run to assess the incorporation of the data in the Spatial Cadastral database.
• Project Broom
  The capturing of historical attribute data from diagrams and general plans.

• Project Pretoria Update
  The capturing of post 1997 approved spatial land parcels in the following four provinces: Gauteng, North West, Northern Province and Mpumalanga.

• Project Cleansweep
  The aim of this project is to update and check all spatial data for correctness. It is envisaged that the Surveyor- General will be able to deliver a new version of the spatial data within 18 months.

• Digital Lodgement
  This is a phased project whereby all data submitted to the Surveyor-General is lodged digitally. The first phase iof this project is the lodging of numeric information digitally.

• Parcel Reservation
  Parcels were previously reserved on paper schedules. Software has been written which will allow Land Surveyors to reserve parcels digitally. This software is currently being tested and will go live at the end of July.

• Approval System
  This is software that has been written to approve documents digitally. This system will inform a Land Surveyor via e-mail or fax as soon as a document has been approved or not approved.

• Data Provision Management System
  This system will allow any client of the Surveyor-General to set up a profile of data (shopping basket) that is required by their organization on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis. This software will automate the provision of data to any organization that has a profile lodged with the Surveyor-General. The provision of any data required will thus be timeous and correct.
